PAICV will analyze party president resignation between May and June

Praia, May 3 (Inforpress) – The PAICV National Council will be convened, between May and June, for a meeting to analyze the party president resignation, Janira Hopffer Almada, said on Friday João Baptista Pereira.

According to the PAICV’s Vice president, the resignation of Janira Hopffer Almada, should be considered by the party National Political Commission, which is the supreme body between the congresses, which will also act accordingly.

“At this time, we are in the composition phase of the parliamentary group and the Assembly will meet for the first time on May 19, since the Constitution provides that it should meet on the twentieth day after the final results,” he said, reiterating that the PAICV National Council meeting should take place between May and June.

The president of the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (PAICV), Janira Hopffer Almada, announced on April 18 she was going to resign from the party leadership after the defeat in the legislative elections.
