Praia, Oct 12 (Inforpress) – The president of the PAICV – opposition party, Janira Hopffer Almada today defended the need for the Government to allocate more resources to Health and called for a more effective action in order to solve the problems that are affecting the sector.
Janira Hoppfer Almada was speaking to journalists following a meeting she held today with the Board of Directors of the Agostinho Neto Hospital, with the aim to learn in depth on the operation of this hospital, taking into account the complaints that, as she said, have received by users.
“We wanted to get to the bottom of the issues that concern the citizens in general and the Praia in particular,” she said, pointing to the issue related to the staff who work in the hospital and also to the provision of services.
With regard to the staff she indicated that there is a large fringe of workers with a fixed-term contract for two or three years and without the right to social security. A situation that is considered inadmissible in a hospital that is supervised by the Minister of Health who oversees the National Institute of Social Security (INPS).
