PAICV says government “is playing” with the Cape Verdean teaching class

Praia, Oct 3 (Inforpress) – On the eve of another parliamentary session, the African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV-opposition) expressed concerns about education and said that the government has been playing with Cape Verdean teachers.

These statements were made by Deputy António Fernandes in the balance of Parliamentary Days of Paicv for this first plenary session of October that starts this Wednesday, 04, with the highlight the debate with the Minister of Education, Amadeu Cruz.

The MP began the conference by recalling that education is on the agenda, especially with the start of the 2023/24 school year, and emphasised that this debate as the person responsible for the sector is necessary given the difficulties faced by the educational system in the country.

“We are facing a government that is making nothing but promises, while the quality of education is deteriorating in some respects. A government that is unable to present an evaluation of a grouping system, in line with their promise to present an evaluation result for three years,” said Fernandes.
