PAICV: CPRSS resigning group argues that the decision to dismiss was to strengthen the party

Praia, July 6 (Inforpress) – The spokesman for the resignation group of the Regional Political Commission of South Santiago (CPRSS) of the PAICV, Manuel Brito said Wednesday that the decision to dismiss six members of the group “went to strengthen the party and had nothing to do with the president”.

At a press conference in Praia, to explain the resignation, Manuel Brito indicated that the resignation had to do with the fact that the secretaries had never been summoned to the meetings of this Political Commission.

“There was no interference from the National Commission nor from the party’s president, Janira Hopffer Almada in this decision-making,” said Manuel Brito, adding that this position was taken to strengthen the party.

The spokesman for the resignation group members stressed that the position was for the good of the PAICV, indicating that what is at stake is not the “friendship relationship”, since it was made according to the party statutes.
