Over 60 scouts from the Catholic Scouting Corps make promises on Fogo Island

Praia, Dec 7 (Inforpress) – About 60 members of the Catholic Scouting Body on Fogo Island made this Sunday, Scout promises in the parish of Santa Catarina, during the Eucharistic celebration, where they will be invested in a new position and will receive a new scarf.

“It will be a moment of a lot of faith and emotion, since on the island of Fogo there was no such thing in a long time. In fact, on the island, the biggest concern of Catholic scout groups, which represent about 18 groups, is the appointment of new leaders,” said the national head of the Catholic Scouting Body (CEC-CV), Zezinha Alfama.

Speaking to Inforpress, the official said that one of the biggest concerns of groupings on the island is the mobility of trained leaders who travel to other islands, or abroad, to study and then leave the group.

In the face of this concern, she said that the Catholic Scouting Body, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has paralyzed almost everything, so with these meetings are resuming activities at the national level.
