Praia, Feb 5 (Inforpress) – The Judiciary Police told Inforpress today that it is awaiting the autopsy report to clarify the “probable causes” of the crew member’s death aboard the ship caught last week with 9.570 kg of cocaine.
It is recalled that the Judiciary Police, with a search warrant and seizure on the cargo vessel named ESER, with Panamanian flag, proceeded on Thursday, January 31, in the Port of Praia, to seize 260 bales, with the gross weight of 9.570 kg containing a product which, tested, reacted positively to cocaine.
Following the operation, 11 citizens, all of Russian citizens, who were present at the competent judicial authorities on Saturday, February 2, were detained in custody.
According to the Cabo Verdean scientific police, the freighter, originating from South America, had as destination port of Tanger, Morocco. According to the same source, the freighter made a stopover at the Port of Praia to comply with legal procedures related to the death on board of one of the member crew.
