Praia, Mar 1 (Inforpress) – The Smart City Cabo Verde Foundation launched Sunday the “Midjora nha vida” project that aims to promote the digital inclusion of 1.000 people, with a view to reducing poverty, through crypto currency.
This innovation project, which responds to the first of the sustainable development objectives (SDGs), eradicate poverty, according to the foundation’s president, Loide Monteiro, will benefit 1.000 people, including 400 women and 600 young people.
“We have a partnership with an international company Impact Market that uses crypto currency to reduce poverty. They contacted us to work on this project for poverty reduction and basically in its ‘Universal Basic Income’ program they think that all people have to have an income … for their survival,” she said.
According to Loide Monteiro, thanks to this partnership, the thousand beneficiaries will participate in training in entrepreneurship, basic technology for business, citizenship, self-esteem and an income-generating activity, and then assist in the assembly of a micro business.
