Ombudsman considers “meritorious” the work promoted by rehabilitation centres

Praia, Oct 4 (Inforpress) – The Ombudsman on Monday considered “meritorious” the work that has been promoted by the Granja Therapeutic Community of São Filipe, Orlando Pantera Socio-Educational and ICCA’s Emergency Centre For children.

“It’s a meritorious and very demanding job. At that moment, the Granja of São Filipe has 26 admitted patients and there are some successes of recovery”, he said, referring to one of the cooks who was one of the therapeutic community patient.

José Carlos Delegado, who spoke to the press after visiting some institutions that welcome people for rehabilitation, also stressed that he received explanation about patients, who are people of various social classes, hence the reason for supporting and encouraging all those who work to dignify the human person.

“Works of this nature should be supported and encouraged, but sometimes we forget these types of institution,” he said, arguing that this is the reason for his visit to give people ideas of the effort that the professionals from these institutions make to recover man.
