Praia, Dec 2 (Inforpress) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, said that the entire history of Cabo Verde there has never been so much transparency in the management of Public Finances and with regard to State Accounts.
Olavo Correia made this statement Tuesday on his social network page, in reaction to the press conference given by PAICV, during which this party said that Cabo Verde is going through “one of the worst moments” of its history in terms of transparency and accountability, caused by the fault of the Government.
In this line, the government official assured that this Government “does not have overdue accounts” and “has fulfilled” its obligations within the legally established deadlines, pointing, for example, to the Ministry of Finance website and also in the letters sent to the Assembly National in which these data appear.
“The State Accounts for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018, as well as the Provisional Accounts for 2019, were delivered to the National Assembly, complying with the legal deadlines. The final Accounts for 2019 will be delivered before December 31 of this year, the deadline set by law ”, he said.
