Number of guests in Cabo Verde increased 18.1 percent in the third quarter of 2017 over the same quarter – INE

 

Praia, Nov 15 (Inforpress) – The number of guests in Cabo Verde rose 18.1 percent (%) in the third quarter of 2017, compared to the same quarter and in the same period, overnight stays increaded 17.1% according to data released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

The United Kingdom was the main country of origin of tourists, confirm statistical data of tourism / guest movement in the third quarter 2017.

English tourists were the ones who stayed the longest in Cabo Verde, with an average stay of 9.5 nights. The island of Sal was the most sought after by tourists, representing about 52.2% of overnight stays in hotels.

Between January and September 2017, hotel establishments registered more than 512 thousand guests and around 3.3 million overnight stays, representing increases of 11.0% and 12.1%, respectively, in relation to same period of the previous year.
