Praia, Nov 29 (Inforpress) – The mayor of São Filipe said today, in the City of Praia, he would like to have the Head of State as president of honor of the city of São Filipe centenary celebrations.
“It would be a great honor for São Filipe and all the São Filipe’s citizens, residents in the islands and the diaspora to have the President of the Republic as president of honor for the city of São Filipe centenary celebrations,” the Mayor said.
Nuías Silva made these remarks to the press, at leaving a hearing with the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, in which he was accompanied by the president of the Municipal Assembly of São Filipe, Luís Nunes.
Asked if he would have addressed with José Maria Neves the issue of the presidency of honor of the first centenary festivities for the elevation of the then village to the category of city, the mayor of São Filipe said he made with the Head of State a “broad and open approach” on various issues related to his municipality, but it was agreed that these ideas will be materialized, through its officialization.
