Praia, Aug 17 (Inforpress) – Diplomat Hercules Cruz was sworn in Wednesday as Cabo Verde’s new ambassador to France, having demanded more means to improve consular services in Paris, whose performance is currently criticized.
Hercules Cruz, who has received the news that he will be appointed to head the consular services in France with “much surprise” has declared himself aware of the challenges and problems that the Cabo Verdeans are going through in that country.
On the one hand, he has pledged every effort to solve these problems, but on the other hand, he has asked the central services to transform the consular services into an efficient service responding to the Cabo Verdeans wishes residing in France.
“It is not permissible that in the 21th century, in the City of Lights, our citizens are facing such miserable situations similar to those described by the singular Victor Hugo two or three centuries ago,” he said, alluding to the queue that the Cabo Verdeans faced to have access to consular services.
