Praia, Jun 3 (Inforpress) – The new ambassador of Cabo Verde in Cuba, Edna Barreto, promised Wednesday at the sworn-in ceremony in the city of Praia to respond this confidence by putting all the wisdom and competence at the service of these new functions.
“It is a privilege to be an ambassador in a partner country of Cabo Verde from the first hour, a useful partner, especially in the framework of South-South cooperation. With the advent of national independence in July 1975, Cabo Verde and Cuba established diplomatic relations and from this point on, a solid bilateral cooperation and a fruitful political dialogue began,” the diplomat said.
Since then, there have been “a number” of official visits at the highest level to and from Cuba, and several sectoral legal instruments have been signed, embodied in the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Also in her statements, Edna Barreto stressed that today the world has changed, that the international climate is another, that one lives in an increasingly globalized world and that the Cuban and Cape Verdean realities are also different.
