Praia, Feb 6 (Inforpress) – The National Directorate of Health (DNS), through the National Program for the Prevention and Control of Oncological Diseases, promotes today, at the Government Palace, in Praia, the central act alluding to the World Cancer Day.
Under the theme “For fairer care”, the central act, carried out in partnership with central hospitals, police stations and health centers, aims to raise awareness of the equity gap that affects many people, as well as to bring together various stakeholders to present ongoing actions in the matter.
During the event, activities such as lectures, debates on the role of non-governmental organizations and NGOs in the fight against cancer and the presentation of perspectives, challenges, priorities and results of oncology projects in the health structures.
As for improving access to diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of cancer patients, the DNS informs that it has implemented a set of awareness and prevention actions, carrying out screenings in communities, training professionals, protocol and therapeutics.
