National Anti-Doping Organization wants to have its own laboratory

Praia, June 29 (Inforpress) – The National Anti-Doping Organization for Sports in Cabo Verde (ONAD-CV) is already working with its partners to have its laboratory in two years, but promises to begin in 2017 to take control in the country.

The president of the ONAD-CV, Emanuel Passos, advanced this information at the end of this morning’s meeting with the president of the Cabo Verde Olympic Committee (COC), Filomena Fortes, and stated his intention to be in a position to do the control of any athlete, anywhere in the country, and at any time.

In this meeting, the newly created ONAD-CV, inaugurated on the 22nd of this month, took the opportunity to present its work and hear the COC’s ideas regarding the fight against doping in sport as an organization dedicated to regulating the sector and protect clean sport as well as clean athletes.

Emanuel Passos said that this year’s installation aims above all to educate and raise awareness to the athletes in order to know the harmful effects of the use of doping methods and substances for health, but also to provide them with knowledge about the consequences if they are caught with positive control.
