Fogo: City Hall of promotes first edition of “Literary Beco – book festival” São Filipe, Sep 27 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Mosteiros, through the Culture Department, promotes from Wednesday, the 28th, to Saturday, the 30th, in the city of Igreja, the first edition of the “Literary Beco – book festival”. The holding of this cultural initiative is part of the City Hall of Mosteiros annual activities plan and aims to promote the reading habits, exchange between writers and readers, as well as disseminate the work of local authors and create opportunities to make a book party to writers from the county and outside and others participant. The activities, according to a press release from the City Hall of Mosteiros, take place at the open-air amphitheater and seaside, on the Beco’s newly requalified seafront. In the course of the activities there will be the launch of literary works, rounds of conversation “Café com versos”, literary meeting and book fair. The program includes workshop on storytelling techniques, book fair, delivery of training certificates in reading and making games, signing of cooperation agreement between the City Hall of Mosteiros and National Library, activities to promote reading and writing in schools and launch of the book “Contra Mar e Vento” by Henrique Teixeira de Sousa, from Fogo. Music: Paulino Vieira back to the stage in 2023

Praia, Sept 8 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean singer-songwriter Paulino Vieira will back to the stage in 2023 at a concert scheduled for February 20, 2023, at the Cultural Center of Belém (CCB), in Lisbon, reported Público newspaper on Wednesday.

Out of the stage for years, the Cabo Verdean singer, composer, producer and arranger Paulino Vieira will be back on stage in a concert that fits the celebration of the Sul do Mundo Platform, in its ten years of existence as a cooperative that brings together professionals in the field of production and artistic programming and works with artists from various areas,  as Fausto Bordalo Dias and Selma Uamusse.

Born Paulino Jesus Santos Vieira, on August 31, 1955, in the village of Praia Branca, on the island of São Nicolau, Cabo Verde, in a family of musicians, Paulino learned in childhood to play the guitar, cavaquinho and violin, accompanying his father, Matias dos Santos Vieira, at parties and serenades.

At the age of 9, Paulino Vieira moved to São Vicente, where he studied at the Salesian College, there receiving musical training and learning to play clarinet, flute, piano and other instruments.
