Praia, Jul 2 (Inforpress) – The leader of the MpD parliamentary workbench (ruling party) said Wednesday that her party is available to reach a consensus with the PAICV (opposition party), with a view to provide the City of Praia witth a Special Statute (EE).
According to Joana Rosa, the scheduling of the proposed law that regulates the Special Administrative Statute of the Capital should not be interpreted as being “electoral”, because, she justified, the “moment is now”.
The spokeswoman for the parliamentary group of the Movement for Democracy made these remarks at a press conference, in which she made known the views of her colleagues on the need to provide the City of Praia with its Special Statute, as provides for the Constitution of the Republic.
For Joana Rosa, there is a need for everyone to look at the country’s capital as a “center of convergence and, also, with its consequences”, namely in terms of housing, security, basic sanitation and territorial space management, “in a sustainable way”.
