Praia, Oct 12 (Inforpress) – Vice-president of the Movement for Democracy (MpD-ruling party), Janine Lélis hopes that the first Summer University of this party, aimed at young people, serves to “empower” young staff of the party.
Janine Lélis made these remarks in statements to the press in the margins of the opening ceremony of this political event that she presided over today at Cidade Velha, cradle of Cabo Verde.
“The challenges facing the party today are different and we know that we need new energies and new attitudes of encouragement and commitment to help carry forward what is the task of MpD, governance,” said Janine Lélis, who is also the minister of Justice.
According to her, young people play an “important role” in the definition of democracy, since they bring “new energies, new ideas and new engagement”.
