Praia, April 24 (Inforpress) – The MpD (ruling party) parliamentary group believes that the Government is on a “good path” to meeting the goal of 45.000 jobs during the legislature, as promised during the election campaign.
In introducing the parliamentary debate on employment policies, at the request of the majority parliamentary group, Mr Miguel Monteiro recalled that Cabo Verdeans consider access to employment and income as the main challenges facing the country.
For that reason, he added, these were the main goals of the Ulisses Correia e Silva Government.
“The MpD has always believed and will believe that it is possible to reverse the blackboard left by the previous Government and, therefore, made a commitment to create 45.000 jobs during the legislature,” he said.
Miguel Monteiro stressed that the increase in economic growth in 2016 to 3.9 percent, that is “four times the average of the five years of the PAICV’s governance”, as well as the increase of the employed population and the increase of the active population for about 247 thousand show the change of the Cabo Verdean population spirit.
