São Filipe, Sept 12 (Inforpress) – Two hundred low-income families in the municipality of Mosteiros are benefiting from home water connection in the framework of the funding mobilized by the Fogo Solidario Association (Afosol) with partner institutions.
The project, according to chairman of the board of directors of this non-governmental organization (NGO), Eugénio Veiga, is tripartite, with the partnership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), the Intermunicipal Water Company, Águabrava, and the City Hall of Mosteiros.
The LDS has provided funding worth 35,000 dollars to connect 155 families, but with the partnership of other institutions, including beneficiary families that contributes to employed labour, the number of connections could reach 200, according to Eugénio Veiga.
“At the moment 130 families already have water in their homes,” said the head of Afosol, stressing that with the extension of the water distribution network to ensure the coverage of families who are within a radius of more than 15 meters and isolated cases, the municipality of Mosteiros will be 100 percent (%) covered with the home connection in the coming days.
