Mobility agreement: Cabo Verde wants to have the entire process completed with Portugal by July

Lisbon, Jun 29 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, said on Tuesday in Lisbon that Cabo Verde wants to have the entire process on the mobility agreement with Portugal, within the framework of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), concluded by July.

The Chief Executive pointed out this date in statements to the Cabo Verdean press at the end of a meeting he had with his counterpart Portuguese, António Costa, at the São Bento Palace, on the sidelines of his participation in the second United Nations Oceans Conference that takes place in Lisbon from June 27th to 1st July.

“We are predicting that soon we can operationalize and have the agreement that allows, on the basis of the global agreement, to operationalize this mobility agreement between Cabo Verde and Portugal, but also with the various countries bilaterally, with very large impact, that is, if it goes well, we are aiming for July,” he said.

According to Ulysses Correia e Silva, Portugal has already made progress in a “significant” way with the very amendment of the law of nationality, and Cape Verde is in process.
