Ministry of Health lowers the number of accumulated cases to 1.542

Praia, Jul 9 (Inforpress) – The Ministry of Health this afternoon revised the number of cases of the new coronavirus in Cabo Verde to a accumulated total of 1.542, after having reported 34 new cases in the statement sent the press.

In this Wednesday’s epidemiological bulletin sent to the press this afternoon, the Ministry of Health announced 1.576 positive cases accumulated in the country. However, in a usual press conference to take stock of the situation on COVID-19 in Cabo Verde, the president the National Institute of Public Health, Maria da Luz Mendonça, clarified that after all, there were not 1.576 accumulated cases, but 1.542.

The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health said that 245 samples analyzed, in the last 24 hours at the virology laboratories in Praia and São Vicente, 43 were positive and 156 negative, with 1 patient being followed up.

According to Maria da Luz Mendonça, the 43 cases are all from the Santiago Island, with Praia having recorded 34 positive and 110 negative cases and the rest in the municipalities of Santa Cruz, Santa Catarina, Tarrafal de Santiago, São Miguel, São Domingos and São Salvador do Mundo with one positive case.
