Praia, June 9 (Inforpress) – The Ministry of Finance and the Dutch Embassy in Cabo Verde today signed a contract worth almost two million euros to acquire a tugboat to improve port services by Enapor.
The agreement signed by the Minister of Finance Olavo Correia and Dutch ambassador to Cabo Verde, Theo Peters, is the result of a historic partnership that, according to the official, is based on a “good reception” of the Cabo Verdean diaspora in that country and in the political relationship were built over time.
The agreement, he explained, aims to improve the port operations of Enapor, as well as help in the emergency rescue operation not only in the country, but also throughout the middle Atlantic.
“It’s going to be a huge qualitative leap. In 2018, in the middle of March or April, we will have the tugboat and we will be able to guarantee a service, especially at the level of port security, but also for rescue if there is any catastrophe in Cabo Verde,” he said.
