Praia, Jan 26 (Inforpress) – The Ministry of Education started Monday at Cesaltina Ramos High School, in Praia, the implementation of the Education, Culture and Solidarity project, as a way to help artists in this COVID-19 pandemic period.
The project consists of a set of musical workshops in high schools in the islands of Santiago and São Vicente, with the aim of also contributing to the reinforcement of art teaching, stimulating students in artistic production and contributing to good mental health and psychological development of adolescents at this time of the health crisis and its social restrictions.
Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the project’s presentation, the Minister of Education, Amadeu Cruz, said that this initiative will allow, in this time of pandemic, the coexistence and interaction between culture and the school environment, in order to provide some moment fun and sharing values of Cabo Verdean culture.
Amadeu Cruz added that this project will also provide income for artists, at a time when they have few opportunities to hold cultural events.
