Praia, May 17 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Education, Maritza Rosabal, announced on Thursday that it is already in the “final phase” to set up an instrument governing relations between the Government and the public university (Uni- cv) in financial matters.
According to the official, this new instrument requires the Uni-cv to restructure the training offer that, as she explained, “has to be in accordance with the development needs of the country”.
Martitza Rosabal made this announcement when she was questioned in Parliament by the representative of the Cabo Verdean Independent and Democratic Union (UCID-opposition party), Dora Oriana, about the intervention of the Government regarding the financial situation of the public university.
According to the minister, in addition to training offers in line with the development of Cabo Verde, there is still a need to focus on “qualification of the teaching staff”, as well as the establishment of a quality assurance system for higher education, which will “gains and compliance with international standards”.
