Minister of Culture says Government is open to assess the situation of the events sector

Praia, Oct 7 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Culture and Creative Industries said, in the City of Praia, the Government is open to assess the situation of the events sector which has been the “most harmed” due to the pandemic effects.

Abraão Vicente made these statements on Wednesday to the press on the sidelines of the contemporary dance workshop, after being asked to talk about a post on the social network Facebook by the event producer Socrates Sucá who accuses him of doing nothing for culture promoters. The post received several likes, comments and some shares.

“I don’t really know the publication, but we need to separate the sectors. For now my head has always been on a tray since April 22, 2016. It’s not the first time that cultural agents or cultural producers ask for my head, because in their perspective it is not positive”, began by saying Vicente.

For those who know how to govern a country he knows that it is not the Minister of Culture to decide whether or not to open up the large cultural events which can result in agglomerations, because there is a crisis office and the Council of Ministers for internal arguments. Therefore, “this is a collective decision”.
