Minister of Culture considers the National Route of Tabanca as “fundamental step” for its preservation

Assomada, Dec 9 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Culture considered Wednesday that the virtual platform of the National Route of Tabanca, presented Wednesday, is “a fundamental step” for the preservation of this cultural manifestation with a strong focus on the islands of Santiago and Maio.

Abraão Vicente was speaking to the press, outside the presentation of the virtual platform of the National Route of Tabanca, which took place at the Tabanca Museum, in Chã de Tanque, Santa Catarina (Santiago), and which was attended by the Mayor, José Alves Fernandes, and the director of Intangible Heritage, Sandra Mascarenhas, who presented the project.

“The virtual platform of the National Route of Tabanca is an important step for the preservation of Tabanca at national level, for the creation of quality knowledge for those who want to investigate, work, know and be with Tabanca”, this is a fundamental step”, he stated.

Because, as he recalled, in 2016, there was a museum dedicated to this musical genre, but at the time the most important people in Tabanca were “each on their own”, hence the reason why he states that this project, well presented, will unite the makers of Tabanca and make it known to those who are interested in it.
