Mercado do Côco Case: MpD satisfied with the filing of the crime complaint filed by PAICV

Praia, Apr 24 (Inforpress) – MpD today expressed satisfaction with the filing of the criminal complaint filed by the PAICV, following delays in completing the Mercado do Côco works, and ensured that the project will be concluded at the beginning of 2020.

The finding was made by the MP of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) municipal bench, Manuel Alves, in reaction to the filing of the complaint of the crime filed on February 20 by the PAICV against City Hall of Praia, and the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) considered that the aforementioned complaint did not bring with it the news of any crime.

For the MpD, the Public Prosecutor’s Office was very good about this complaint, which did not even bother to order the opening of the investigation process since there were no reasons and no indications of any crime.

On the other hand, he considered that the noise created by the African Party of Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV) around this project demonstrates that the party is against the construction of the Mercado do Côco, which will have better sanitary conditions to receive the approximately 800 salespeople.
