Porto Novo, Nov 25 (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Porto Novo highlighted, on Tuesday, the importance of training for dependents’ caregivers, in an initiative of the Ministry of Family and Social Inclusion (MFIS), which is already be taught in the municipality.
Aníbal Fonseca, who was speaking at the opening of training, said that this is a “very important” action implemented by the Government and its partners in the context of measures to combat COVID-19 in Cabo Verde.
It is “an initiative that is of great importance”, since it provides trainees (20 women) with “knowledge and tools” to provide dependents (elderly, disabled and children) “a better service”, explained the mayor.
The six-month training, including the practical part in the work context, is an initiative of MFIS, financed by Spanish cooperation and which has as partners the Cabo Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equity (ICIEG), the City Hall of Porto Novo and the Institute of Employment and Professional Training, which teaches the course.
