Matchú Lopes wins the Kitsurf World Circuit in Germany and is a victory to revalidate the title


Praia, Aug 22 (Inforpress) –  Matchú Lopes won the penultimate stage of the Global Kitesurfing Associaton-GKA kitesurf world circuit in the free style category, held in Fehmarn, Germany, on Sunday, 22 August. A victory to revalidate the world title.

Matchú beat the Italian-Cabo Verdean Airton Cozzolino, the adopted son of Italians, in a competition that has been dominated by Creole experts with Mitú Monteiro to take a place among the top four.

The last stage of this circuit is in Mauritius and Matchú Monteiro will have to return to beat Airton Cozzolino, to preserve the world title conquered last year.

After this stage in Germany, Airton Gozzolino leads the standings with 3580 points, followed by Matchú Lopes with 3210, Paulino Pereira is third with 3160, followed by Mitú Monteiro in the fourth with 3080 points, while Kebo de Aboitiz closes the “top five” with 2760 points.
