Praia, Sep 11 (Inforpress) – Mário Fernandes is the first Cabo Verdean appointed by the Chairman of Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, to represent him in Guinea-Conakry and promises “do not defraud the expectations” of who nominated him.
Mário Fernandes, who traveled to Conakry on Thursday, goes on a two-year mission, but, he said, “there are possibilities for renewing the contract, which will depend on both parties”.
“I hope to do my utmost not to defraud the expectations of the Chairman of Commission”, promised Fernandes, who said he was “proud” to be the first national citizen to be appointed to represent the Chairman of ECOWAS Commission in a “neighboring country” and brother, as they say”.
Mário Fernandes, in addition to the Mechanical Engineering course, has a law degree. He has also performed government functions in Cabo Verde.
