Mariano Salazar completes five-year mission in Cabo Verde ahead of WHO representation

Porto Novo, May 27 (Inforpress) – Mariano Salazar ends his mission in Cabo Verde on May 31, as World Health Organization (WHO) representative, considering that it was “a privilege” to work in the archipelago over the last five years.

Mariano Salazar, who ends the mission coincides with the end of his career at WHO, was honored this Friday in Santo Antão by the health region of this island that, as he said, “will stay forever” in his heart.

The WHO representative in Cabo Verde, considered the “godfather” of the Sanitary Region of Santo Antão (RSSA), was one of the enthusiasts of the project for the creation of this region in 2015, which he supported in many ways in those four years operation.

The RSSA’s director, Ângela Gomes, praised the “collaboration” that Mariano Salazar has always given to the health sector in Santo Antão, adding that he stay “in the memory” of being the “eternal godfather” of the health region.
