Praia, Jul 09 (Inforpress) – The linguist Manuel Veiga launched Thursday, in Praia, “The Cabo Verdean in 45 lessons” for grammatical study with the expectation that Cabo Verdeans internalize “their own language” norms and rules.
According to the author, the work was a challenge the writer Arnaldo França launched him in the early 90’s, when he published the Grammar of Creole, proposing a development of it.
“I had published introduction to Grammar of Creole, a work of almost 500 pages and Arnaldo France turned to me says Manuel Veiga we need a José Maria Relvas which was a simple functional grammar and contained in it essential about functioning of the Portuguese language”, told Manuel Veiga.
From there, the linguist continued, the idea “The Cabo Verdean in 45 lessons” arose, in which every aspect of Creole Grammar is part of a lesson that is “easy to understand and study”.
