Praia, Oct 21 (Inforpress) – The Maio Island Protected Areas Complex Management Plan (CAPM), approved by a resolution of the Council of Ministers (CM), enters into force on Tuesday, 20th, after being published in the Official Gazette of this Monday, 19th.
According to the CM resolution, the CAPM Management Plan is a special instruments for land planning of a regulatory nature establishing the spatial framework of a coherent set of actions with impact on the organization and the land management.
“The CAPM Management Plan and the respective regulations apply in the identified location in the respective zoning summary letter covering part of the Maio Island”, the document reads.
One of the CAPM Management Plan characteristics is because it directly and immediately links public and private entities. Cabo Verde, as a small island and archipelagic country, aggravated by its economic and environmental vulnerabilities, requires adequate strategies for the management of its natural resources, according to the same source.
