Praia, Mar 12 (Inforpress) – The African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (PAICV) will run in the legislative elections of April 18 with a renewed list, in which of the 72 candidates, 62 run for the first time and four women are heads-of-list.
In a press conference to present the list of candidates for PAICV MPs in all constituencies in the country and in the diaspora, the coordinator of the party’s legislative elections, Fernando Moeda, stressed that it was a “long” process and the management of expectations was a “very important” fact in choosing the candidates.
The lists the PAICV presents to the electorate, mirror the importance the party gives to the 2021 legislative elections, and integrate militants, supporters and by independent individuals representative of society, aiming at building an ever greater alliance between the party and society and put the interests of Cabo Verde first.
According to this responsible, the lists integrate individualities with deep visibility and notoriety as well as social experience in the respective constituencies and endorsed with technical capacity and competence in their areas of activity. The commitment and political engagement in the construction of Cabo Verde for all and renewal were always present.
