Praia, Mar 31 (Inforpress) – The six political parties competing for legislative elections are already in the possession of the “facsimile” i.e. the reproduction or exact copies of the original ballot papers for each constituency.
The delivery of the “facsimile” to the six political parties representatives was made today by the National Election Commission (CNE), in the presence of the media, with the aim to also informing the citizens about this distribution.
The CNE’s president, Maria do Rosário Gonçalves, explained that the entry of “facsimile” is a legal consequence, with provision in Article 166 (5) of the Electoral Code.
“It is important citizens are aware of this act and are aware the parties are in possession of this facsimile, because it is normal for political parties to reproduce, i.e. copies aiming to be used in the civic education of voters and helping them understand how they vote correctly on election day,” she explained.
