Judo: Djamila Correia Silva and Carolina Francês represent Cabo Verde at the World Cup in Doha

Cidade da Praia, 8 May (Inforpress) – Cape Verdean international judokas Djamila Correia e Silva and Carolina Francês will represent Cabo Verde at the World Judo Championship to be held from 7 to 14 May in Doha (Qatar), Inforpress reported today.

According to the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee, Djamila Correia e Silva, a 52kg athlete, is already in Doha to participate in the World Championships and will be in action this Monday.

Judoka Carolina Francês, -63kg, will travel to Doha on Monday and will debut on Wednesday, 10.

The two Cape Verdean judokas are looking for the qualifying minimums for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The 2023 World Judo Championships will be held at the Ali Bin Hamad al-Attiyah Arena in Doha, Qatar from 7-14 May 2023 as part of the IJF World Tour and during the qualification period for the Paris’2024 Olympic Games.
