Judo: Cabo Verde will be at world championships in Hungary

Praia, Jun 3 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde will be at the World Judo Championships, to be held from June 6 to 8, in Budapest (Hungary), with a delegation composed of three athletes and a coach, in this Olympic qualifying event for Tokyo.

The internationals Djamila Correia e Silva, category -52 kg, Sandrine Billet in -63 and Alexandre Silva in the 60 kg are part of the Cabo Verdean delegation guided by coach Noel Delgado in this world race where Cabo Verde hopes to find a very high level of judokas.

In this event the points Cabo Verde get is already predicted by the national federation of the sport as essential for qualification for the Olympic Games, which is not focused on winning medals.

Sandrine Billet won the first silver medal for Cabo Verde in Dakar on  May 21 at the 42nd African Judo Championships, Djamila Correia won the bronze medal in her category.
