Judicial Year: PR says “excessive procedural delay” is the “biggest problem” of the justice sector

Praia, Dec 8 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic today highlighted the “excessive procedural delay” as the “biggest problem” of justice, considering that this has “enormous costs” in the lives of people and companies, “delays the development” of the country and “confidence in the sector”.

José Maria Neves made this remark during his speech at the opening ceremony of the Judicial Year 2021/2022, which took place today in Praia.

The Head of State considered that over time “efforts have been made” by successive governments to improve this sector, which has driven a “huge leap” in the working conditions have existed over the past 30 years.

He pointed out that several judgments in civil and criminal matters were unfolded and/or created in the main categories, specialized judgments in matters of work, family, small-cause courts and execution of penalties, not forgetting the installation of the Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court.
