Journalists are trained in HIV/Tuberculosis in the context of the PARECO Project

Praia, Apr 16 (Inforpress) – The Platform for Nongovernmental Organizations (PONG’S) is starting a two-day training session on RHR strategies under the Regional HIV/TB Risks Program (PARECO).

The training program at the NGO Platform headquarters is focused at journalists and aims to improve access to risk reduction services (RHR) and promote respect for human rights of drug users in West Africa.

In Cabo Verde, according to a press release from the NGO Platform, the aim of training within the scope of the PARECO project is to rise awareness among the political bodies for the adoption of strategies for reducing risks and public policies in key sectors of governance in relation to users of drugs.

Therefore, the press release also stresses the training of media professionals with a view to their partnership in the transmission of messages that promote the human rights of users and reduce the stigma and discrimination of this population.
