Praia, May 27 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, made a technical stopover at Banjul airport, having been greeted by his Gambian counterpart, Adama Barrow, with whom he had a meeting.
José Maria Neves arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, late on Thursday afternoon, where he will participate in two extraordinary summits of the African Union (AU), which will take place on May 27 and 28.
According to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, this Friday, the 27th, José Maria Neves attends in the AU Donor Conference, which aims to discuss the challenges related to humanitarian assistance in Africa, defend the sustainable financing of humanitarian needs and mobilize resources for the humanitarian response on the continent.
On the table is the proposal to create a humanitarian agency of its own on the continent.
