“Jornada de Ádvena” winner of the 2018 Corsino Fortes Award launched today in Praia

Praia, Aug 5 (Inforpress) – The winning work of the Corsino Fortes Award –  BCA Prize for Literature 2018, “Jornada de Ádvena”, by the lawyer Domingos Landim, was presented on Thursday, presented in the City Praia.

In statements to the press, the author explained that it is a book of stories that portrays the Cabo Verdean reality and other countries of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) he had the opportunity to visit and know during his travels.

The author said that these countries and the archipelago have in common cultural realities, with literature, music, the struggle for Independence, that is, it is a very rich space of Lusophony where there are points of divergence, but also many points of convergence. According to Domingos Landim, the book pays tribute to José Lopes, Corsino Fortes and Eugénio Tavares.

Winner of the Corsino Fortes Award – BCA Prize for Literature 2018, Domingos Landim said he was widely “satisfied” with this award he considers the highest award received in Cabo Verde. At the time he said that the release of this book only happened now because of the pandemic, and at the time he was in Senegal and he has been stranded for eight months.
