Jorge Carlos Fonseca congratulates Mozambique on the 45th anniversary of independence

Praia, Jun 26 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, Thursday sent a message of congratulation to his Mozambican counterpart, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, on the 45th anniversary of the independence of Mozambique.

“As your country is celebrating the 45th anniversary of its national independence, I am delighted to address Your Excellency, to send a fraternal hug to the Brother People of Mozambique and express my deep congratulations on the very important anniversary”, wrote Jorge Carlos Fonseca.

In these “times of difficulties and uncertainties” due to the COVID-19 pandemic has been affecting both countries, the Cabo Verdean Head of State expressed “firm will and total availability”, for further joint work in favor of cooperation ties and friendship that has always existed between the two countries and peoples, whether in the bilateral framework or in the family context, the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries), and in the broader multilateral plan.

The independence of Mozambique, a country located on the east coast of southern Africa, was made official on June 25, 1975, this year having the celebration under the theme “United, We Build Mozambique for Peace and Development”.
