Joana Rosa meets with students from the island of Maio in Santiago

Praia, Jan 25 (Inforpress) – The MpD parliamentary leader admits the possibility that the island of Maio may have a university campus to respond to students’ demands, but warns of the island’s capacity in terms of teaching staff.

Joana Rosa, MP for the constituency of Maio elected in the MpD lists, offered these hopes “if justified” during a meeting held at the National Assembly with students from the island, this Saturday, with the purpose of finding out about the real problems in a way to find solutions proposals.

She said that she has been in contact with FICASE, universities and the City Hall of Maio over the years, which, in her view, has played a very important role over the years, at the same time she revealed to the participants a government financing project so that 647 students can access pending certificates.

“Students with debts to universities and who need certificates or who have problems with submitting monographs, the Government will subsidize 80 or 60 percent of debts, depending on the cases with universities,” explained Joana Rosa.
