Praia, Aug 28 (Inforpress) – The Japanese Government is available to support Cabo Verde in the energy and civil protection areas, and also intends to transform Cabo Verde into a platform for liaison with other African countries.
This intention was expressed to the Cabo Verdean Minister for Foreign Affairs and Communities, Luís Filipe Tavares, for his Japanese counterpart during a meeting held in Maputo, on the sidelines of the 7th Tokyo International Conference on Development in Africa – TICAD, which take place in Mozambique, from August 23 to 26.
Speaking to Radio of Cabo Verde (RCV), Luís Filipe Tavares explained that it was a private meeting that served to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries and to analyze the projects in courses in Cabo Verde.
“I took the opportunity to submit two more project ideas to the islands of Boa Vista and Maio, in the electricity production area. Renewable energies for the island of Santiago and geothermal energy for the island of Fogo,” said the Cabo Verdean ruler, adding that there is also availability by the Japanese side to support the country in the civil protection area.
