Japan offers garbage collection truck to CMP to cover peripheral neighborhoods

Praia, July 12 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Praia (CMP) already has another garbage collection truck offered by the Embassy of Japan in Cabo Verde under the Local Projects Assistance Program (APL).

The formal delivery took place today in the City Hall and was chaired by the first secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Cabo Verde, Yuki Ikoma, in the presence of the mayor of Praia, Óscar Santos.

At the time, the mayor of Praia praised the cooperation between Japan and Cabo Verde and was “very grateful” for the offer since, according to him, the municipality of Praia has a “huge expenditure” in the field of environmental sanitation.

“It is a municipality that is growing a lot, has about 150 thousand inhabitants, receives a traveling population of 30 to 40 thousand, which means that it is a huge burden in the field of garbage collection,” he noted.
