São Filipe, Nov 07 (Inforpress) – The woman arrested on Monday night in possession of a “certain amount” of cannabis and a white powder, which the authorities presume to be a drug, will await the unfolding of the process in pre-trial detention .
The alleged owner of about 11 kilograms of cannabis, also known in Cabo Verde as a padjinha, distributed in eleven packages and some sachets with 32 grams of white powder, which authorities suspect to be cocaine or crack cocaine, was presented late Tuesday afternoon to the county court for the first interrogation and legalization of arrest.
After being heard during the first interrogation, the Public Prosecution requested that pre-trial detention be applied as a preventive measure, which was ordered earlier in the evening by the criminal court of the district court of São Filipe, and was taken to the prison.
The alleged owner of the drug seized, and for the authorities was intended for trafficking, was transporting the drug from Santiago Island, from one neighborhood to another.
