Porto Inglês, May 27 (Inforpress) – The Municipal Assembly of Maio approved this Wednesday, in its first ordinary session this year, the new regulation on land management, with 10 votes in favor from the MpD workbench and three abstention from PAICV (opposition party).
The mayor, Miguel Rosa, began by remembering that for some time now the City Hall had not been selling land, so this tool came at a time when there are “many demands” in the coming years, taking into account the tourist investments are planned for “the next months”.
“We’re going to get a lot of people, but we’re also going to have an island with structural investments and it’s can cause some pressure on the land,” he said.
According to Miguel Rosa, with the updating of this new law, the City Hall will improve the land management and exploitation in the island and enable more revenue from the sale, so it is intended to continue with the public auction modality and sale at the normal price the City Hall had been doing.
