São Filipe, Jun 8 (Inforpress) – The Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) in Cabo Verde, Jeff Daigle, inaugurates today, in Ponta Verde, north of the municipality of São Filipe, the Fruit Crop Project, of the Agua para Viver Association.
The project was funded by the U.S. Embassy through the Self Help Fund and, according to Sebastião Baptista, a member of the association and former emigrant in the U.S., has horticultural and livestock components, including a vegetable garden and a corral for animal husbandry.
The initial project was only for horticulture, but it was decided to add the livestock part, aiming at the production of organic fertilizer to use in the horticulture part rather than chemical fertilizer.
Jeff Daigle, who arrived this morning in São Filipe, after visiting the neighboring Island of Brava, has scheduled a courtesy visit to the City Hall of São Filipe, Mayor Nuías Silva, at 10:00AM, on the premises of the Municipal Museum of São Filipe.
