Investments in human resources and specialization are now priorities for Health, says minister

Praia, Feb 20 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Health, Filomena Goncalves, outlined this Monday, investment in human resources and specialization as a priority for the Health sector, after the investment made in infrastructure and equipment.

“A large investment was made in terms of infrastructure and equipment, but the priority now is human resources, above all in specialization, so we are working with the Order of Doctors and the Installing Commission for Nurses to jointly have a human resources plan, funded by the World Health Organization (WHO)”, she guaranteed.

Filomena Gonçalves gave this guarantee to journalists, at Praia, following a meeting with the Ombudsman, José Carlos Delgado, with whom she analyzed some concerns of citizens related to the functioning of the health system in Cape Verde.

The official said that the objective is to work with planning, so that they can know “where we are and what we aim for in the near future”.
